The IDADEE Vision
Together For Good Day 1
Remy Fils-Aime is the visionary behind IDADEE. In this piece, he shares the history of the IDADEE organization as well as the vision for its future.
The IDADEE campus is a 15-acre plot of land in Balan, Morne Rouge, 15 miles West of Cap-Hatien. The campus houses the Children’s Home, Kindergarten, Primary School, Secondary School (2023), Joshua House retreat center, Vocational School, a soccer field, playground, and the Community Chapel. Just down the road is the CHIDA Hospital, which provides free or low-cost healthcare for community members. IDADEE owns 30 additional acres of land to be used for future expansion.
The Children’s Home provides a safe and loving environment for 40 young kids. A dedicated team of 27 staff members provides physical, spiritual, and emotional care for each child. The IDADEE Schools now serve 511 students ranging from kindergarten to high school. Education in Haiti is prohibitively expensive for many families, so IDADEE offers need-based scholarships to most of these students. CHIDA (IDADEE’s hospital and health clinic) is always busy. It offers free or low-cost healthcare to community members, treating an average of 100 patients every day. Community Health Workers from CHIDA visit 200 people daily to provide ongoing preventative care and wellness checks. CHIDA’s capacity for serving the community continues to grow. In 2021, the same year CHIDA started offering emergency c-sections, the doctors and nurses delivered 106 healthy babies!
IDADEE has directly improved the quality of life for 30,000 people in the community, and the motivation as Remy shared, is the love of Jesus Christ and a desire to put His love into action.
